스페인어의 축소형 접미사에 대한 정리
1. 축소형 접미사 -ito, -ita, -itos, -itas
스페인어에서 작다는 의미의 형용사는 pequeño이다. 이 pequeño를 사용하는 대신 축소형 접미사 -ito, -ita, -itos, -itas를 사용할 수 있다. 이 축소형 접미사들은 단순히 크기가 작다는 의미 외에, 애정이나 부드럽다는 늬앙스를 추가할 수 있다.
-o, -a, -io, -ia로 끝나는 단어에서 이 글자들을 제거하고 축소형 접미사를 추가해서 만들면 된다. 명사와 형용사에서 이 접미사들은 성과 수에 일치를 시켜야 한다.

Las lamparitas del salón lucen bastante bien. The little lamps in the living room shine quite well. [lámpara → lamparitas]
Tienes la cara morenita. Your face is (nicely) tanned. [morena → morenita, softened]
Mi sobrino es muy bajito. My nephew is very short. [bajo → bajito, affectionate]
그런데, 부사에 이 축소형 접미사가 붙게 되면 성과 수에 일치시키지 않고, 끝나는 철자에 따라 -ito, -ita만 붙인다. 이건 어찌 보면 당연한 것 같다. 문법적으로 부사는 명사의 성, 수와 무관하게 사용을 하니까.
- -o로 끝나는 부사는 -ito를 사용한다.
- -a로 끝나는 부사는 -ita를 사용한다.
¡Come despacio! Eat slowly!
¡Come despacito! Eat slowly!
Te espero afuera. I'll wait for you outside.
Te espero afuerita. I'll wait for you outside.
그리고 동사의 Conjugación 에서도 나오는 것인데, 단어의 형태가 변할 때 그 소리는 유지를 하려는 속성이 있다. 이 속성은 접미사가 사용될 때 자음과 모음 사이의 소리 규칙에 따라 변하게 되는 상황이 될 수 있다. 이 때 원래 단어의 소리를 유지하기 위해 스펠링이 바뀌게 된다. (-co, -go, -zo 등)
- poco = a bit: 뽀꼬 → "꼬"의 소리를 유지하기 위해 poquito로 변화한다. pocito로 쓰게 되면 "뽀씨또"로 발음을 해야 한다. "ㄲ" 음을 유지하기 위해 c가 qu로 바뀌었다.

- abrigo = coat: 아브리고 → "고"의 소리를 유지하기 위해 abriguito로 변화한다. abrigito는 "아브리히또"로 발음을 해야 한다.
Tu abriguito está en la percha.
Your little coat is on the peg.
- trozo = a piece: 뜨라쏘 → 이 단어는 z가 c로 바뀌어서 tracito로 변화한다. 그런데 이건 좀 이상하다. 발음이 동일한데 왜 바꾸는 것이지? 다행히 설명이 있다. 스페인어에서 z 뒤에 올 수 있는 모음은 z, o, u이고 e나 i는 오지 않는다고 한다. (진짜? 🤔) 일단 그러려니 하고 넘어가자.
Voy a tomar un trocito de ese pastel.
I'm going to have a little piece of that cake.
2. 축소형 접미사 -cito, -cita, -citos, -citas
단어들 중에서 -e, -n, -r로 끝날 경우 축소형 접미사는 일반적으로 -cito, -cita, -citos, -citas가 사용된다.

명사(fuente, calle, camion, amor), 형용사(verde), 부사(suave)에 위의 접미사가 어떻게 활용되는지 잘 살펴보자.
En la plaza de mi pueblo hay una fuentecita de piedra. > There is a little stone fountain in my village main square.
Más adelante verás una callecita estrecha. > Further on you will see a narrow little street.
El parque está muy verdecito. > The park is very green.
Puedes acariciar al perro suavecito. > You can stroke the dog softly.
He comprado un camioncito de juguete a mi sobrino. > I bought a toy little lorry for my nephew.
Voy a ver a mi amorcito esta tarde. > I am seeing my love this afternoon.
복수형에 대한 예제도 한번 보자.
Mi hijo juega con sus cochecitos todo el tiempo.
> My son plays with his little cars all the time.
Hay dos parquecitos con columpios cerca de aquí.
>There are two small playgrounds with swings around here.
Tus plantas parecen muy verdecitas y sanas.
> Your plants look very green and healthy.
위의 예제에는 명사와 형용사만 있다. 부사에 대한 예제는 없고 별다른 언급도 없다. 기본적인 규칙을 적용한다면 부사는 복수형을 사용하지 않을것 같다.
3. 축소형 접미사 -illo, -cillo, -ecillo, -ececillo
접미사 -illo, -illa, -illos, -illas
이 접미사들은 명사와 형용사에 적용하여 사용되고, 앞에서 언급했던 축소와 애정어린 의미를 가진다.
Voy a sentarme debajo de este arbolillo para tener sombra. (árbol → arbolillo)
I am going to sit under this "little" tree to have some shade.
Esta chiquilla es muy simpática. (chica → chiquilla; "ㄲ" 음 유지)
This "little" girl is very nice.
Me gustan mucho esos cuadrillos de ahí. (cuadro → cuadrillos)
I really like those little paintings over there.
Por favor, ¿nos trae unas jarrillas de agua? (jarra → jarrillas)
Please, can we have some little jugs of water?
만약 명사가 -o, -a로 끝나면 모음을 제거하고 접미사를 추가한다.
- cuadro → cuadr + illos, jarra → jarr + illas
자음으로 끝나면 그대로 유지하고 접미사를 추가한다.
- árbol → arbol + illo
접미사 -cillo, -cilla, -cillos, -cillas
명사가 자음으로 끝나거나 모음 -e로 끝날 경우, 단어 그 자체 철자는 유지하고 -cillo, -cilla, -cillos, -cillas를 추가하려는 경향이 있다.
그리고 축소형 접미사가 항상 크기가 작은 것을 의미하기 위해 사용되지는 않는다. 애정 표현이나 부드럽거나 약한 늬앙스를 주기 위해 사용되기도 한다.
Necesito un cafecillo para continuar el día.
I need a little coffee to continue the day.
La seriecilla sobre animales es fascinante.
The "nice" series about animals is fascinating.
Carlos está jugando con los camioncillos que le regalé.
Carlos is playing with the little lorries that I gave him.

Mis hijos llevaron unos trajecillos muy elegantes a la boda.

La seriecilla sobre los animales es fascinante.
여기에서 serie는 TV 시리즈가 작거나 짧다는 의미가 아니고, "멋진? 재미있는?" 의미로 보는 것이 적절하다. (좀 억지? 😝)
접미사 -ecillo, -ecilla, -ecillos, -ecillas
단음절로 이루어진 단어의 경우는 긴 형태의 접미사를 사용한다. 그리고 -z로 끝나는 단어는 접미사가 붙을 때 -z가 -c로 바뀐다. 또한 가끔 단음절 안더에 접미사가 붙을 때 더 긴 형태의 접미사가 붙을 때도 있다. (-ececillo, -ececilla, -ececillos, -ececillas)
Voy a sentarme al solecillo a broncearme. (sol + ecillos)
I am going to sit in the sun to get tanned.
Compramos unos panecillos frescos en la panadería. (pan + ececillos)
We bought some fresh little bread rolls at the bakery.
La pecera con los pececillos estaba en la esquina del salón. (pez → pec + ececillos)
The fish tank with the little fish was in the corner of the living room.
El bebé jugaba con sus piececillos. (pie + cecillos)
The baby played with his little feet.
주의 사항이 있다.
이런 접미사가 붙을 때 작다는 의미로 사용되지만, 간혹 그 의미가 완전히 바뀌는 경우가 있다.
