Ayer me dio por mirar de nuevo viejo álbum de fotos que tenía guardado y he sentido nostalgia. Hoy en día la tecnología nos permite hacer fotos ilimitadamente, mirarlas y compartirlas al instante, pero hasta hace algunos años esto no era así.

 

Cuando yo era pequeño solo podíamos hacer algunas fotos y teníamos que esperar una eternidad para saber como habían quedado. Así que no tengo demasiadas fotos de mi infancia, pero siempre me impresiona mirarlas y darme cuenta de cuanto hemos camibiado.

 

Mis padres han envejecido y mis hermanos y yo hemos crecido y cambiado un montón. Mi hermana mayor, por ejemplo, era la más alta y delgada de todos, pero ahora es la de menor estatura y tiene un poco de sobrepeso.

 

Mi hermano menor también ha cambiado bastente, él era muy rubio de pequeño, pero ahora el color de su cabello es oscuro. Además, se convirtió en el más alto de todos, es incluso más alto que yo. Por mi parte, yo también he cambiado mucho, ya casi ni me reconozco en las fotos.

 

Solía ser gordo y bajito, pero ahora he crecido y hago deporte para mantenerme en forma. Aparte, ahora llevo la barba y me veo mayor de lo que realmente soy.

 

De todas maneras, como dice el dicho, de tal palo tal astilla, y a pesar de que vamos cambiando físicamente aún nos parecemos mucho a nuestros padres cuando ellos eran jóvenes. 

 

Hoy en día, ellos ya han envejecio y su apariencia física se ha deteriorado. A mi papá ', por ejemplo, se le ha caído el pelo y ahora está calvo y a mi madre le han salido muchas canas, su cabello ahora es casi todo blanco.

[EN] When I was a kid we could only take a few pictures and we had to wait forever to find out how they turned out. So I don't have too many photos from my childhood, but I am always impressed to look at them and realise how much we have changed.

[KO] 내가 어렸을 때는 사진을 몇 장 밖에 찍을 수 없었고 사진이 어떻게 나왔는지 확인하기 위해서는 한참을 기다려야 했다. 그래서 어린 시절 사진이 많지는 않다. 그렇지만 사진을 보면서 우리가 얼마나 변했는지 실감하는 것은 항상 인상적이다.

[EN] My parents have aged and my siblings and I have grown up and changed a lot. My older sister, for example, used to be the tallest and slimmest of us all, but now she is the shortest and a bit overweight.

envejecer: v. age, grow old, get old
La dura vida que lleva lo ha envejecido. → The hard life she leads has aged her.
Quiero envejecer a tu lado. → I want to grow old by your side.
Me pone triste ver envejecer a mis padres. → It makes me sad to see my parents getting older.
estatura: nf. altura de una persona de los pies a la cabeza; height
La estatura es una ventaja en algunos deportes. → Height is an advantage in some sports.
El detective dedujo la estatura del ladrón a partir de sus huellas. → The detective deduced the thief's height from his footprints.
sobrepeso: nm. exceso de carga; excess weight, overweight
Su equipaje tiene sobrepeso. → Your luggage is over the weight limit.

[EN] My younger brother has also changed quite a lot, he was very blond when he was little, but now his hair colour is dark. He has also become the tallest of all, he is even taller than me. As for me, I've changed a lot too, I hardly recognise myself in the photos.

Convertí el archivo a un formato diferente. → I converted the file into a different format.

reconocer: v. recognize, acknowledge, identify, notice, detect
Tras afeitarme, mi madre no pudo reconocerme. → After shaving, my mother could not recognize me.
Mi amiga tenía un nuevo corte de pelo y al principio no la reconocí. → My friend had a new haircut and I did not recognize her at first.
Las amigas reconocieron sus faltas y las aceptaron. → The friends acknowledged their faults and accepted them.
La mujer dijo que podía reconocer al hombre de la fotografía. → The woman said she could identify the man in the photo.

soler: v. "soler + 부정사"의 형태로 사용되며 soler가 현재이면 "usually + 부정사"하다
soler가 불완료과거이면 과거에 ~ 하곤 했다의 의미이다. "used to + 부정사"하곤 했다.

bajito: a. bajo의 축소형(귀여운) 표현

estar/mantenerse en forma = to be fit, to keep in shape
La comida saludable y el ejercicio diario son fundamentales para estar en forma. → Healthy food and daily exercise are essential to stay in shape.
Estoy suficientemente en forma como para correr una maratón. → I am fit enough to run a marathon.
Para estar en forma debes hacer ejercicio.
barba: nf. beard
Mi hermano decidió afeitarse la barba. → My brother decided to shave off his beard.

 

 

[ES] De todas maneras, como dice el dicho, de tal palo tal astilla, y a pesar de que vamos cambiando físicamente aún nos parecemos mucho a nuestros padres cuando ellos eran jóvenes. 

[EN] Anyway, as the saying goes, like father, like son, and even though we are changing physically, we still look a lot like our parents when they were young.

a pesar de: despite, in spite of, notwithstanding
A pesar de haber llegado tarde, fuimos los primeros en llegar. → Despite being late, we were the first to arrive.
A pesar de la crisis, la empresa no sufrió pérdidas. → Despite the crisis, the company did not sustain losses.
Llegamos a tiempo a pesar del atasco. → We arrived on time in spite of the traffic jam.

[ES] Hoy en día, ellos ya han envejecio y su apariencia física se ha deteriorado. A mi papá, por ejemplo, se le ha caído el pelo y ahora está calvo y a mi madre le han salido muchas canas, su cabello ahora es casi todo blanco.

[EN] Nowadays, they have aged and their physical appearance has deteriorated. My dad ', for example, has lost his hair and is now bald and my mother has grown a lot of grey hair, her hair is now almost all white.

[KO] 요즘은 나이가 드시고 외모도 많이 쇠약해지셨다. 예를 들어, 아버지는 머리가 많이 빠지셔서 대머리가 되셨고 어머니는 흰머리가 많이 자라 이제 머리가 거의 다 하얗다.

La humedad deterioró la estatua. → The humidity deteriorated the statue.
la falta de medios puede deteriorar la calidad de la enseñanza. → the lack of resources could harm(or damage) the quality of education
calvo: a. bald
Mi padre ahora es calvo, pero de joven tenía mucho pelo. → Now my father is bald, but as a young man he had thick hair.
cano: a. gray, grey
