Great Place to Work

2009년도 즈음에 회사에서 사내블로그가 활발하게 운영될 때 썼던 것들을 남기기 위해 개인 블로그에 다시 올립니다. 회사와 관련된 민감한 내용은 삭제하고 기록을 남기고자 합니다.
당시에 저는 H/W 개발 엔지니어였습니다. 지금은 2023년이며 당시와는 많은 것들이 변했습니다. 대한민국의 노동법도 바뀌었고 사회적인 분위기 자체가 변해서 과거에 썼던 글들의 내용은 과거, 그 순간에 해당되며 현재와는 매우 다름을 알려드립니다.

 

회사에서 GWP Agent라는 역할을 맡게 되었다.
사실 GWP Agent 를 지원한 것도 아니고, 그냥 어쩌다 보니 내가 맡게 된 것이었다. 또한 그 시점은 2008년 가을쯤으로 기억한다. 이제까지 별 활동 없이 그냥 Agent 라는 이름만 달고 지냈었다.

이번에 하루짜리 간단한 교육을 받으면서 많은 것을 느꼈다. 또한 내가 속한 팀의 분위기, 부서원들의 생각들이 변해가면서 팀웍이 서서히 무너져 가고 있는 듯한 느낌은, 나만이 느끼는 것이 아니다. 모두가 그런 느낌을 받고 있다.

하나씩, 하나씩 나부터 변해보자.

가장먼저 구글에서 검색을 해 보았다.
가장 위에 아래의 Site가 떴다. http://www.greatplacetowork.com/ 이러한 조직이 있는지 오늘 처음 알았다.

당분간은 이 사이트를 계속 들락 날락 하게 될 것 같다.

이것이 핵심이다. 내가 생각해도 위의 3가지에 대해 종업원들이 느끼고 있다면 정말 Great Place 일 것이다.
과연 대한민국에 있는 회사에 근무하고 있는 직원들 중에 위의 3가지를 모두 갖고 일하는 사람들은 얼마나 있을까?

아니, 종업원들이 경영진을 신뢰하고, 자신들이 하는 일에 대한 자부심을 갖고, 업무상 관계된 사람들과 즐겁게 일할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 회사는 과연 얼마나 있을까?

치열하고 살벌한 현대 경쟁 사회에서 살아남기 위해 몸부림치는 회사들이 과연 얼마나 GWP에 관심을 갖고 있을까?
회사는 관심이 있을 지언정, 매니저급, 팀장, 임원들이 GWP의 중요성에 대한 인식을 얼마나 하고 있을까?

조금씩 변하고 있음은 틀림이 없다.
새로 입사하는 신입사원들의 생각은 우리의 그것과 다르며, 매니저, 경영진의 그것과는 더욱 다르다.
이제 GWP에 관심을 집중 시켜야 할 때가 온 것 같다.
