El otro día me di cuenta de algo inquietante. Resulta que desde hace ya un tiempo he estado pensado en cambiar mi horno microondas, pues el que tengo ya está muy viejo y a veces no funciona.

 

Sin embargo, como lo uso de Pascuas a Ramos, no me he esforzado por comprar uno nuevo. El asunto es que el viernes pasado unos amigos vinieron a mi casa para ver una peli, y al poner unas palomitas en el microondas, ¡sorpresa!, no quiso funcionar.

 

Sentí vergüenza, pues al cacharro se le notan los años y fue muy evidente que estaba tardando en reemplazarlo. Así que decidí aprovechar el momento para preguntarles cuál me recomendaban comprar, y hablamos un rato sobre eso.

 

Hasta ahí todo bien, lo insólito fue lo que pasó al día siguiente. Al usar la internet, noté que la mayoría de los anuncios que aparecían eran de microondas, algo que nunca antes me habían recomendado. Lo más extraño de todo fue que a mis amigos les pasó exactamente lo mismo.

 

Nuestra conclusión ha sido que, de alguna manera, nuestros móviles escucharon todo lo que dijimos, pues todos llevábamos el móvil encima y a todos nos aparecieron anuncios similares. No sé qué piensas tú de esto, pero a mí me parece algo peligroso, siento que hoy en día la privacidad es simplemente una ilusión.

esforzarse: vp. (to put in effort) make an effort, try hard, strive
Estos jóvenes se esfuerzan mucho para asegurar la seguridad de su barrio. (These young people make a great effort to keep their neighborhood safe.)

Palomitas (de maíz): popcorn (= crispetas, Maíz pira)
palomita는 paloma(비둘기)에 축소형 어미 ita가 붙어서 palomas pequeñas의 의미이다. 그런데 palomitas는 팝콘을 지칭한다.
단수형인 palomita는 스포츠에서 다이빙(다이빙), 골키퍼의 다이빙을 의미한다. 
Siempre que voy al cine compro palomitas. (Whenever I go to the movies I buy popcorn.)

 

 

[ES] Sentí vergüenza, pues al cacharro se le notan los años y fue muy evidente que estaba tardando en reemplazarlo. Así que decidí aprovechar el momento para preguntarles cuál me recomendaban comprar, y hablamos un rato sobre eso.

[EN] I felt embarrassed, because the thing was getting old and it was very evident that I was taking a long time to replace it. So I decided to take advantage of the moment to ask them which one they would recommend me to buy, and we talked about it for a while.

notarse: vr. (to perceive) feel
Me noto más alerta en la mañana que por la noche. (I feel more alert in the morning than at night.)

notar는 타동사로 to be aware of, to perceive, to distinghish의 의미들로 사용된다. 
Noté que saliste muy temprano de tu casa hoy. (I noticed that you left home very early today.)
¿No notas nada en el brazo? Tienes un rasguño grande. (Don't you feel anything on your arm? You have a big scratch.)
Después de platicar con el abogado, revisé el documento y noté las páginas importantes. (After talking with the lawyer, I reviewed the document and marked the important pages.)

또한 비인칭 동사로도 사용되는데, to be noticeable, to be able to tell의 의미로 사용된다.
¿Se nota que mis patillas están disparejas? - No, para nada. (Is it noticeable that my sideburns are uneven? - No, not at all.)
Se nota que está muy contenta. (You can tell she's very happy.)

notarse los años: (of someone or something) to look old or shabby(추레한, 다 낡은 해진)
A mi perro se le notan los años. (My dog is getting old.)
Aunque Juan intenta mantenerse en forma, ya se le notan los años. (Although Juan tries to stay in (good) shape, you can tell he is getting old.)

evidente: a. (apparent) clear, obvious, evident / ad. (naturally) of course, obviously
Es evidente que Jorge ya no siente nada por Lara. (It's clear that Jorge doesn't have feelings for Laura any more.)
Que hay un desacuerdo entre los hermanos es más que evidente. (It's more than obvious that there's some disagreement between the brothers.)
Es evidente que los afectados necesitan nuestra ayuda. (It's evident that the victims need our help.)
evidente는 부사로도 사용되는데 of course, obviously의 의미를 가진다.

reemplazar: vt. (to exchange, substitute) replace
Reemplacé la batería del carro porque ya no quería prender. (I replaced the car battery because it wouldn't start.)
¿Quién puede reemplazar al maestro enfermo como supervisor del examen? (Who can replace the sick teacher as proctor of the exam?)

Así que decidí aprovechar el momento para preguntarles cuál me recomendaban comprar
decidí는 단순과거, recomendaban은 불완료과거형이다. 아마도 결심한 것은 한 시점이었고, 친구들이 추천을 하는 행위는 과거의 일정 시간 동안 지속된 것이라서 이렇게 사용된 것 같다. (그냥 내 생각이다.)

 

 

[ES] Hasta ahí todo bien, lo insólito fue lo que pasó al día siguiente. Al usar la internet, noté que la mayoría de los anuncios que aparecían eran de microondas, algo que nunca antes me habían recomendado. Lo más extraño de todo fue que a mis amigos les pasó exactamente lo mismo.

[EN] So far so good, the unusual thing was what happened the next day. When using the internet, I noticed that most of the ads that appeared were for microwave ovens, something that had never been recommended to me before. The strangest thing of all was that the exact same thing happened to my friends.

[KO] 여기까지는 괜찮았다. 다음날에 이상한 일이 벌어졌다. 인토넷을 사용할 때, 나타나는 광고가 대부분 전자레지에 대한 것이라는 것을 알게 되었고, 이전에는 결코 나에게 추천되지 않았던 것이었다. 가장 이상한 것은 나의 친구들에게도 똑같은 일이 벌어졌다는 것이다.

insólito: a. unusual, extraordinary

[ES] Nuestra conclusión ha sido que, de alguna manera, nuestros móviles escucharon todo lo que dijimos, pues todos llevábamos el móvil encima y a todos nos aparecieron anuncios similares. No sé qué piensas tú de esto, pero a mí me parece algo peligroso, siento que hoy en día la privacidad es simplemente una ilusión.

[EN] Our conclusion was that somehow our cell phones heard everything we said, because we all had our cell phones on us and we all got similar ads. I don't know what you think about this, but it seems dangerous to me, I feel that nowadays privacy is just an illusion.

[KO] 우리의 결론은, 어떤 방식이든, 우리 휴대폰이 우리가 말한 모든 것을 들었고, 그래서 휴대폰이 모든 것을 가지고 있고, 우리에게 비슷한 광고가 나타났다는 것이다. 당신은 어떻게 생각하는지 모르셌지만, 그건 위험한 것 같고, 요즘은 프라이버시가 환상일 뿐이라고 생각한다.

privacidad: privacy
Viviana compartía habitación con sus dos hermanitas, así que se encerraba en el baño en busca de un poco de privacidad cuando necesitaba hablar por teléfono. (Viviana used to share a room with her two younger sisters, so she would locked herself in the bathroom looking for some privacy whenever she needed to talk on the phone.)
