¿Conoces a alguna persona que siempre se las arregla para armar un follón dondequiera que va?
Pues yo sí, se llama Roberto, y lo más extraño de todo es que es uno de mis mejores amigos.

Roberto tiene fama de gruñón y cascarrabias entre toda la gente que lo conoce, y por eso aún no me explico cómo hemos logrado cultivar nuestra amistad por tantos años. Generalmente trato de evitar a toda costa ese tipo de personas conflictivas y negativas, pero supongo que llega un momento en el que aprendes a aceptar a tus amigos con sus cualidades y también sus defectos.

El hecho es que el otro día, uno de nuestros amigos de toda la vida nos invitó a una barbacoa en su casa, pues estaba de cumpleaños.

Roberto, que vive a unas cuantas manzanas de mi casa, se ofreció a recogerme para ir juntos en el mismo coche. Yo decidí aceptar, pues no tenía sentido ir en coches separados viviendo tan cerca. Pero algo dentro de mí me decía que no era una buena idea, pues las pocas veces que habíamos estado en el mismo coche, era yo quien conducía y podía notar que se ponía muy nervioso cada vez que había un atasco o que teníamos a otro coche en frente.

En todo caso, iniciamos el trayecto tranquilamente y todo parecía ir bien, hasta que unos kilómetros más adelante pasamos por un tramo donde había bastante tráfico.

Naturalmente, empezamos a adelantar a los coches más lentos por el carril izquierdo y así íbamos avanzando relativamente rápido.

Pero de pronto, un camión enorme que estaba frente a nosotros quiso adelantar a otro camión y, como ambos avanzaban muy lentamente, obstruyeron la carretera por completo. Entonces, Roberto se puso histérico y empezó a tocar la bocina sin parar, gritaba como un loco y decía palabrotas.

 

No digo que no tuviera razón para enfadarse, pero se le estaba yendo la olla, y la gente que pasaba se sorprendía al ver su reacción. Sentí muchísima vergüenza en aquel momento y traté de calmarlo, pero mis esfuerzos fueron en vano, la gente nos miraba y yo quería que me tragara la tierra.

 

Obviamente me enfadé mucho por su comportamiento, y al llegar a casa de nuestro amigo le dije que yo conduciría de vuelta a casa y que nunca más le dejaría ser el conductor si yo iba en el coche, pues no estaba dispuesto a pasar más vergüenza por su culpa.
