스페인어 관용 표현 expresión idiomática, 성탄절 단어

스페인어에서 재미있게, 일상생활에서 잘 활용할 수 있는 관용 표현입니다. 성탄절 Navidad과 연관된 단어들, árbol 나무, ángel 천사, leña 장작, belén 성탄도, raíz 뿌리 등이 사용된 표현들을 정리했습니다. Lingolia 사이트에서 성탄절과 관련된 단어라고 분류를 해서 저도 동일하게 했는데, 이건 좀 무리한 건 아닌가 라는 생각도 듭니다. 그래도 재미있는 표현들이니 잘 익혀두면 좋겠네요.

Árbol 나무

hacer leña del árbol caído

: (직역) making firewood out of the fallen tree

: to profit, with good or bad intentions, from someone's failure or from an undesired situation

  to take advantage of someone's misfortune

: 떨어진 나무로 장작을 만들다 → 누군가의 불행/실패를 이용하다. 

 

✒️ Todos hacemos leña del árbol caído con el despido de Julián. Nos repartirán todos sus proyectos.

→ We are all taking advantage of Julián's dismissal. We will be given all of his projects."

우리 모두 훌리안의 해고로 덕을 보게 되었다. 우리는 그의 프로젝트들을 맡게 될 것이다.

Tuve que cortar algo de leña para la fogata. → I had to cut some wood for the campfire.
despido: nm. dismissal, redundancy
Tras mi despido encontré un empleo mejor. → After my dismissal I found a better job.

: something conflictive, the situation is getting out of control. There is a lot of anger, frustration, or violence.

→ There is a protest in front of the ministry and things are getting heated.

→ 대사관 앞에서 시위가 벌어지고 있고, 상황이 점점 불타오르고 있다.

: being the center of attention, being watched and judged by everyone

: 관심을 받다. 화제가 되다.

→ The minister's daughter is in the spotlight because of some photos that came out in the magazines.

→ 장관의 딸이 잡지에 실린 사진들 때문에 각광을 받고 있다.
