카니발, Carnaval 관련 단어가 사용된 관용 표현

 

Caramelo, 카라멜, 캔디

▶  a punto de caramelo

: (직역) ready for candy

: almost finished, almost at the exact moment

: 거의 정확한 순간에, 거의 끝난

✒️  ¿Has acabado de limpiar la casa?  Me queda un poco pero ya está a punto de caramelo. → 

Have you finished cleaning the house?  I have a little left but it's already close to caramel.

집 청소 끝냈어? 조금 남았어. 그렇지만 거의 다 끝났어. 

limpiar: v. tidy up, clean up, wipe off
Limpié mis zapatos porque estaban sucios. → I cleaned my shoes because they were dirty.
Limpié la mesa polvorienta con un trapo. → I wiped the dusty table with a rag.

 

 

▶ Durar menos que un caramelo en la puerta de un colegio.

: (직역) Last less than a candy at a school door.

: last a short time, last as long as a fart in a windstorm

: 얼마 못가다

✒️ Si siguen atendiendo tan mal en ese restaurante, durará menos que un caramelo en una puerta del colegio. → 

If the service at that restaurant continues to be so bad, it will last less than a piece of candy at a school door.

그 레스토랑의 서비스가 그렇게 계속 나쁘다면, 얼마 못 가 문 닫을 것이다.

atender: v. serve, attend to, meet sth. 
El equipo está ansioso por atender las necesidades de nuestros huéspedes. The staff is eager to meet the needs of our guests.
La dependienta atendió a sus clientes. The salesperson served her clients.

jugar: v. play, gamble, move
Me gusta jugar a las cartas con mis amigos. → I like to play cards with my friends.
A mi abuela le encanta jugar en el casino. → My grandmother loves to gamble at the casino.
burro: nm. donkey
vestir: v. dress sb./sth., wear
La madre vistió a su hijo con un traje y una camisa. → The mother dressed her son in a suit and a shirt.

: (직역) to put on a show, give the show

: to draw negative attention to themselves, describe someone who is behaving in a way that is disruptive or embarrassing.

: 어떤 상황에서 지장을 주는, 당황하게 만드는 방식으로 행동하는 사람을 묘사

: 특히 공공장소에서 행실이 나쁜 사람을 묘사함

✒️ No quiero viajar con ellos. Hablan tan alto que en el avión siempre terminan dando el espectáculo. → 

I don't want to travel with them. They talk so loud that on the plane they always end up making a spectacle of themselves.

나는 그들과 함께 여행하고 싶지 않다. 비행기 안에서 항상 매우 큰 소리로 말을 해서 다른 승객들에게 피해를 준다. 

✒️ El niño está dando el espectáculo en el restaurante

: (직역) of verbena, verbena: (어떤 축제로) 야간의 야외 댄스 파티, 버베나(마편초과의 화초), 

: something that is not serious

: 혼란스럽고 정돈되지 않게 행동하는 사람들을 묘사, 규칙이나 규정을 따르지 않는 사람들 묘사

✒️ Los profesores en esta facultad son de verbena. Cada uno hace lo que le da la gana. → 

The professors in this faculty are like a street fair. Everyone does whatever they want.

이 학부의 교수들은 제멋대로 행동한다. 모두들 원하는 것 무엇이든 한다.

✒️ El grupo de estudiantes está actuando de verbena

→ 학생들 무리는 규칙을 지키지 않는다.

facultad: nf. faculty, power, authority, school
Los superdotados tienen facultades mentales impresionantes. Exceptionally gifted people have impressive mental faculties.

: (직역) longer than Lent

: that lasts too long or is boring

: 매우 길고 지루한, 따분한 것을 묘사

✒️ Este libro es más largo que la cuaresma. → This book is longer than Lent.

 이 책은 사순절 보다 더 길다. (길고 지루하다)
