El otro día os dije que una de las cosas más me gusta hacer es viajar; me chifla conocer nuevos países, explorar sus paisajes y descubrir su cultura. Sin embargo, hay algo que olvidé contaros, y es que cada vez que me voy de viaje tengo que enfrentar uno de mis miedos más grandes: el miedo a volar.

 

No sé por qué, pero a pesar de haber tomado ya tantos vuelos en mi vida, aún sufro el mismo temor que sentí la primera vez. Aunque el despegue y el aterrizaje se me hacen eternos, lo que más me acobarda es el movimiento brusco del avión en pleno vuelo a causa de las turbulencias.

 

Cada vez que el avión se tambalea mi corazón se acelera, las manos me sudan y los músculos de mi cuerpo se paralizan, siento como si el avión estuviera a punto de desbaratarse y me entra la angustia. He hablado con muchas personas que no sufren de esta fobia, incluido un amigo azafato, y me han dado muchos consejos para controlar el miedo en tales situaciones,

 

y aunque sé que el avión es el medio de transporte más seguro y que está preparado para soportar las turbulencias, aún no consigo relajarme y disfrutar enteramente de la experiencia de volar. Por tal motivo, siempre que puedo, prefiero viajar en tren o en autobús, aunque el viaje sea más largo;

 

es un sacrificio que estoy dispuesto a hacer a cambio de viajar tranquilo y disfrutar del recorrido. No obstante, la mayoría de las veces, para ir al extranjero no tengo alternativa y debo tomar un vuelo, entonces no me queda más remedio que cruzar los dedos y confiar en que todo estará bien.
