Aunque me da un poco de vergüenza, hoy quiero contaros algo que me pasó el otro día. No sé si os he dicho antes, pero soy intolerante a la lactosa, es decir que no puedo digerir muy bien los lácteos y por lo tanto siempre los evito en mi dieta o consumo productos deslactosados. Desafortunadamente, el finde pasado cuando fui a hacer la compra me equivoqué y compré leche entera sin darme cuenta.

Al llegar a casa tampoco me percaté de ello y, como siempre, puse todas las cosas en la alacena  la leche en la nevera. El lunes por la mañana, decidí que para desayunar tomaría algo rápido pues se me había hecho tarde para ir al trabajo; así que puse un bol con los cereales y vertí una cantidad abundante de leche, todavía pensando que era deslactosada. 

Cuando llegué a mi oficina empecé a sentir un leve malestar, pero no le di importancia pues tenía una reuníon importante con mi jefe y algunos colegas. Sin embargo, la cosa fue a pero y mi estómago empezó a hacer ruidos extraños y bastante fuertes en plena reuníon, esto causó que algunos de mis compañeros se dieran la vuelta para mirarme y que yo me pusiera colorado.

Para colmo de males, me estaban dando muchas ganas de ir al bañó, sentía que iba a explotar, así que decidí salir del cuarto de reuniones disimuladamente antes de que fuera demasiado tarde. Por desgracia tenía que ir hasta la cuarta planta donde estaba el baño así que decidí tomar el ascensor. Al abrirse el ascensor había dos personas, dudé por un momento, pero decidí entrar. ¡Craso error!

De repente, en medio de aquel silencio incómodo, ¡se me escapó un pedo! ¡Se me caía la cara de vergüenza! Quería que me tragara la tierra… obviamente me ha disculpado y aunque las dos personas se lo tomaron con humor, yo salí de aquel ascensor totalmente abochornado.
¡Creo que nunca más volveré a tomar leche en mi vida!

Unfortunately, last weekend when I went grocery shopping I made a mistake and bought whole milk without realizing it.

[KO] 좀 부끄럽지만, 오늘은 얼마 전에 나에게 일어난 일에 대해 말하고 싶다. 전에 말을 했는지 모르겠지만, 나는 유당 불내증이 있어서 유제품을 잘 소화시키지 못한다. 그래서 항상 식단에서 유제품을 피하거나 유당이 없는 제품을 섭취한다. 안타깝게도 지난 주말에 장을 보러 갔을 때 실수를 했고 나는 전유(홀밀크)를 산 것을 몰랐다.

dar vergüenza: to embarrase, to be shameful, ashamed
Te da vergüenza admitir que ese niño es mejor que tú. (이 아이가 너보다 낫다는 것을 인정하는 것이 창피하겠다.)

contaros: contar 동사와 직접목적격 대명사 os가 합쳐진 형태이다.

Yo mismo dije el otro día que sin duda esa cifra no está a la altura de las necesidades. (I myself said the other day that this amount was undoubtedly not enough to meet existing needs.)

intolerante: a. intolerant, 음식에 과민증이 있는, 편협한, 옹졸한
Para terminar debo precisar que soy intolerante a la lactosa, por eso también tengo los intestinos delicados. (I should also say that I am intolerant to lactose and that's why I have such a fragile stomach.)

es decir: that is (to say), in other words, 다시 말해서, 즉

[EN] When I got home I didn't notice it either and, as usual, I put all the stuff in the cupboard and the milk in the fridge. On Monday morning, I decided to have a quick breakfast because I was late for work, so I put a bowl with cereal in it and poured a generous amount of milk, still thinking it was lactose-free. 

[KO] 집에 돌아와서도 나는 눈치채지 못했고, 평소처럼 모든 것을 찬장에 넣고 우유는 냉장고에 넣었다. 월요일 아침에, 출근이 늦어서 아침을 빠르게 먹기로 결심하고 시리얼을 그릇에 넣고 우유를 충분히 부었다. 나는 여전히 유당이 제거된 우유라고 생각했다.

percatarse de(que...): v. (재귀동사) to notice, to realize, perceive (= darse cuenta de (que...))
Al percatarse de la presencia policial, emprendió la huida a la carrera. (경찰의 존재를 알아챘을 때, 그는 재빨리 도망을 쳤다.)

La carne cruda debería conservarse en la nevera. (Raw meat should be kept in the refrigerator.)

hacerse tarde: to be (getting) late, 늦다
Date prisa, se nos está haciendo tarde y perderemos el vuelo. (서둘러! 우리는 늦으면 비행기를 놓칠 거야.)
Se me hizo muy tarde y no pude despedirme de mis hijos. (나는 늦어서 아이들과 작별인사를 하지 못했다.)

bol: nm. bowl
Mi desayuno usual es un bol de cereales. (My usual breakfast is a bowl of cereal.)

verter: v. pour (out), empty (out), dump
Vertió el contenido de la bolsa encima de la mesa. (She poured the contents of the bag onto the table.)

[ES] Cuando llegué a mi oficina empecé a sentir un leve malestar, pero no le di importancia pues tenía una reuníon importante con mi jefe y algunos colegas. Sin embargo, la cosa fue a peor y mi estómago empezó a hacer ruidos extraños y bastante fuertes en plena reuníon, esto causó que algunos de mis compañeros se dieran la vuelta para mirarme y que yo me pusiera colorado.

[EN] When I got to my office I started to feel a slight discomfort, but I didn't think anything of it because I had an important meeting with my boss and some colleagues. However, it got worse and my stomach started making strange and quite loud noises in the middle of the meeting, this caused some of my colleagues to turn around to look at me and I turned red in the face.

[KO] 사무실에 도착했을 때 약간 불편함을 느끼기 시작했지만, 대수롭지 않게 여겼다 왜냐하면 상사 및 동료들과 중요한 회의가 이었기 때문에. 하지만 증상이 심해졌고, 배에서 이상한 소리가 나기 시작했고, 회의 중에 그 소리는 꽤 컸다. 내 동료들 중 어떤 사람들이 돌아서서 나를 보게 만들었고 나는 얼굴이 빨개졌다.

Deberías consultar a un médico si el malestar persiste. (You should see a doctor if the discomfort persists.)
El primer síntoma de la enfermedad es un malestar general. (The first symptom of the illness is general malaise.)
La demora del grupo de rock causó malestar en el público. (The rock band's delay caused unrest in the audience.)
Los embotellamientos pueden causar gran malestar. (Traffic jams can cuase a lot of upset.)

ir a peor: go worse, worsen (= empeorar)
Después de la pandemia la economía mundial fue a peor. (판데믹 이후에 세계 경제는 악화되었다.)
El comportamiento de tu hijo ha ido a peor este año. (네 아들의 행동거지는 올해 나빠졌다.)

pleno: a. full, plenary
El éxito del proyecto exige nuestra plena cooperación. (The success of the project requires our full cooperation.)
en pleno/a: in the middle of something
Decidieron irse de viaje en plena pandemia. Están locos. 
La cantante se desmayó en pleno concierto. 

colorado:  a. red (= rojo), blushing (얼굴이 빨개진, 부끄러운)

[EN] To make matters worse, I felt like going to the bathroom, I felt like I was going to explode, so I decided to leave the meeting room before it was too late. Unfortunately I had to go to the fourth floor where the bathroom was so I decided to take the elevator. When the elevator opened there were two people, I hesitated for a moment, but decided to go in. Big mistake!

para colmo de males: to crown it all (급기야, 최악으로), to make matters worse(설상가상으로), top it all
La computadora se estropeó y ahora, para colmo de males, se me descargó la batería del celular. (The computer has broken down, and now to crown it all, my cellphone's battery has run down.)
El país está en guerra y, para colmo de males, ahora tiene que enfrentarse a las secuelas de este terremoto. (The country is at war, and to make matters worse, it now has to face the consequences of this earthquake.)

explotar: vt. exploit, operate, explode / vi. explode, go off
Este país tiene muchos recursos naturales que aún no han sido explotados.(This country has many natural resources that are yet to be exploited. 이 나라는 풍부한 천연자원을 가지고 있다. 그것들은 아직 개발되지 않았다.)

dudar: v. doubt, hesitate
Espero que venga, aunque lo dudo mucho. (I hope she'll come, although I doubt very much.)
Es lo mejor para ti, no lo dudes. (It's the best thing for you, believe me.)
No dude en comunicarse conmigo en cualquier momento si tiene alguna pregunta. (Don't hesitate to get in touch with me at any time if you have questions.)

I don't think I'll ever drink milk again in my life!

[KO] 갑자기, 그 불편한 적막 가운데, 방귀를 뀌고 말았다! 정말 🐕창피했다! 쥐구멍에 들어가고 싶었다. 나는 사과를 했고 두 사람은 유머러스하게 받아들였다. 나는 완전히 창피해져서 엘리베이터에서 나왔다. 

내가 살면서 다시는 우유를 마시지 않을 것 같다!

aquel: (지시형용사, 지시대명사) that, that one, (informal) charm, sex appeal
Estos son negros mientras aquellos son blacos. (These ones are black, whereas those ones are white.)
Aquel que está en el escaparate. (The one that's in the window)
Tiene mucho aquel. (She's got it or She certainly has sex appeal.)

echarse un pedo = tirarse un pedo: to fart, cut a fart, 방귀를 뀌다
Todo el mundo se ríe cuando alguien se echa un pedo. (누군가가 방귀를 뀌었을 때 모두가 웃었다.)

Caérsele la cara de vergüenza: to be overwhelmed with shame, to feel acutely embarrassed, 🐶쪽팔리다, 몹시 수치스럽다.
Se me cayó la cara de vergüenza cuando llamé a mi novia por el nombre de mi ex. (여자친구를 부를 때 전여자 친구의 이름을 말해서 몹시 당황스러웠다.)

abochornado: a. embarrassed, ashamed (= avergonzado)
Me sentí abochornado cuando mis padres empezaron a hablar de mi infancia. (부모님이 나의 유년시절에 대해 이야기를 시작했을 때 나는  당황스러웠다.)
La actriz estaba muy abochornado por las fotos privadas que se habían filtrado en la internet. (그 여배우는 사적인 사진들이 인터넷에 유출이 되어 매우 당황스러웠다.)

filtar: v. filter, screen, leak
Se puso los lentes de sol porque no soportaba la luz que las cortinas filtraban. (He put his shades on because he couldn't stand the light filtered by the curtains.)
Puedes filtrar los datos por año usando esta fórmula. (You can filter the data by year using this formula.)
Alguien filtró el nombre de la amante del rey a la prensa. (Somebody leaked the name of the king's lover to the press.)
