휘슬, 호루라기, Pito

▶ tomar a alguien por el pito del sereno 

: don't take someone seriously

: (누구에게) 별로 관심이 없다. 전혀 관심이 없다. 직역은 "누군가를 야간경비원의 호루라기로 취급하다."

✒️ Estoy harta de decirte que ordenes tu cuarto. Me tomas por el pito del sereno. → I'm sick of telling you to tidy up your room. You don't take me seriously.

나는 너에게 방을 정리하라고 말하는데 질렸다. 넌 내 말에 신경을 안쓴다. (내 말이 말 같지 않냐?)

pito: nm. whistle, 호루라기, 경적
sereno: nm. watchman, 야간경비원
harto: tired, sick, fed up, 지긋지긋한, 신물난Estoy harto del invierno porque siempre hace frío. → I am tired of winter because it is always cold.
Estaba harto de mi trabajo, así que conseguí uno distinto. → I was fed up with my job, so I got a different one.

 

공, Pelota o Balón

▶ hacer la pelota/ser un pelota

: flatter someone/be a flatterer

: 아첨하다. 자신의 이익을 위해 알랑거리다

✒️ Los alumnos de 4º no paran de hacer la pelota a la profesora para ir de excursión al zoo. Son las personas más pelotas que he conocido en mi vida. → The 4th graders keep sucking up to the teacher to go on a field trip to the zoo. They are the best sycophants I have ever met in my life.

4학년 학생들은 동물원 투어를 가려고 선생님에게 계속해서 아첨을 했다. 그들은 내가 살면서 본 최고의 아첨꾼들이다.

parar: v. stop
Él es capaz de correr durante horas sin parar. → He is able to run for hours without stopping.
pelota: nf. ball
El jugador de béisbol lanzó la pelota muy rápido. → The baseball player pitched the ball very fast.
excursión: nf. trip, tour
Reservé una excursión a Tailandia. → I booked a trip to Thailand.

 

▶ punto pelota

: to close a topic or discussion

: 특정 주제에 대해 이제 그만 이야기 하자는 의미. 같은 의미로 사용되는 구문으로 punto final, punto redondo, punto en boca 등이 있다.

✒️ Estoy harta de discutir siempre sobre tus notas. Pónte a estudiar y punto pelota. → I'm sick of always arguing about your grades. Get back to studying and that's it.

너의 등급에 대해 항상 논쟁하는 것이 지겹다. 공부나 하고 그만해!

discutir: v. discuss, argue
El gerente llamó a una reunión para discutir el proyecto. → The manager called a meeting to discuss the project.
ponerse: v. pónte는 ponserse 재귀동사의 tú에 대한 명령형, Put yourself로 해석하면 됨

 

▶estar en pelotas

: to be naked

: 벌거벗은의 의미인데, 은유적으로 돈이 없다는 의미로도 사용됨

✒️ Estaría genial que dejases de estar en pelotas. Las visitas están a punto de llegar. → It would be great if you would stop being naked. The visitors are about to arrive.

손님이 곧 도착할 테니, 옷을 입으면 좋겠다~

genial: a. great, awesome
Mi viaje a Los Ángeles fue genial: vi a muchos famosos. → My trip to Los Angeles was great: I saw lots of celebrities.
Fue genial escuchar la buena noticia. → It was wonderful to hear the good news.
dejar: v. stop, put (down/off), drop off, allow, park 다양하게 활용되므로 여러 예문으로 익혀야 함
Dejé que la mezcla se enfriara por media hora. I allowed the mixture to cool for half an hour.
entí la imperiosa necesidad de dejar el trabajo y empezar de nuevo. I felt the compelling need to quit my job and start over.
Dejé una clase porque tenía demasiada tarea. I dropped a class because I had too much homework.

 

▶ echar balones fuera

: change the subject or avoid a question, avoid responsibility

: 주제를 바꾸다, 질문이나 책임을 회피하다의 의미

✒️ Mi hermano me debe dinero. Siempre echa balones fuera cuándo le pregunto si me lo va a devolver. → My brother owes me money. He always avoid the question when I ask him if he is going to pay me back.

내 형제는 나에게 빚을 졌다. 내가 돈을 갚을 거냐고 물어보면 항상 피한다.

deber: v. must, should, owe, need
Mi amiga todavía me debe dinero. My friend still owes me some money.
El médico me dijo que debo hacer más ejercicio. The doctor told me that I must exercise more.
La gente no debe desperdiciar los recursos naturales. People should not waste natural resources.

 

 

페널티, Penalti

▶ casarse de penalti

: getting married while the wife is pregnant

: 아내가 임신을 한 채로 결혼하다. (속도위반하다)

✒️ Antes estaba muy mal visto casarse de penalti. → It used to be frowned upon to get married while the wife is pregnant.

예전에는 결혼할 때 아내가 이미 임신을 한 것을 나쁘게 생각했었다. 

mal visto: be frowned upon, badly thought of, not welcomed, 나쁘게 여겨지는
