얼굴, Cara

▶ cuesta un ojo de la cara

: be very expensive, cost an arm and a leg

: 무지 비싸다, 큰 돈이 들다

✒️ El coche que se quiere comprar Luis cuesta un ojo de la cara. → The car Luis wants to buy costs is very expensive.

루이스가 사고 싶은 차는 무지 비싸다.

coche: nm. car, vehicle
uimos a Almería en coche →  we went to Almeria by car (we drove to Almeria)

 

▶ ser un caradura

: be shameless and selfish

: 건방진, 무례한

✒️  Mi hermano ha cogido mis patines sin mi permiso. Es un caradura. → My brother has taken my skates without my permission. He is a cheeky person.

내 동생(형제)은 나의 허락 없이 내 스케이트를 가져갔다. 건방진 놈.

caradura: nf. cheeky person, sassy person, 건방진 사람, 무례한 사람
coger: v. cogido는 coger의 과거분사, take, pick up, grab
La pareja cogió un taxi al hotel. → The couple took a cab to the hotel.
La mujer cogió el teléfono y llamó a su amiga.  →The woman picked up the phone and called her friend.
patín: nm. skate, 스케이트

 

▶ caerse la cara de vergüenza

:  be very ashamed of, very embarrassed.

: 부끄러운, 창피한

✒️ Se me ha olvidado otra vez tu libro en mi casa. Lo siento, se me cae la cara de vergüenza. → I forgot your book at my house again. I'm sorry, my face is falling off in shame.

너의 책을 집에 또 두고 왔다. (잊었다) 미안해. 부끄럽다. 

vergüenza: shame, embarrassament
Es una vergüenza que algunas empresas descuiden el medio ambiente. → It is a shame that some corporations neglect the environment.

 

눈썹, Ceja

▶ tener/meterse algo entre ceja y ceja

: to have an idea or a concept about something and not change your mind/be stubborn. to get something into one's head

: 확고한 생각을 가지고 있고 바뀌지 않을 상황에서 사용하는 표현

✒️ Esmeralda tiene entre ceja y ceja que quiere ser bombera cuando sea mayor.  → Esmeralda has it in her head that she wants to be a firefighter when she grows up.

에스메랄다는 커서 소방관이 되고 싶어 한다. 그 생각은 완고하다.

bombera: nf. 남성형은 bombero, 소방관, firefighter
llamar a los bomberos  →to call the fire brigade

 

 

속눈썹, Pestañas

▶quemarse las pestañas haciendo algo

: working hard doing something

: 무언가를 하는데 굉장히 열심히 하다

✒️ Tenía que terminar el trabajo para hoy por la mañana y me he quemado las pestañas frente al ordenador para poder terminarlo a tiempo.  → I had to finish my work by today morning and I worked very hard in front of the computer in order to finish it on time.

나는 오늘 아침까지 일을 끝내야 했다. 그래서 나는 제시간에 끝내기 위해 컴퓨터 앞에서 정말 열심히 일했다.

quemarse: v. burn, get burned
me quemé la lengua con la sopa → I burned my tongue on the soup
se han quemado 100 hectáreas de pinares en el incendio  →100 hectares of pinewood have been destroyed in the fire
pestaña: nf. eyelashe, tab, 속눈썹, 탭(웹 페이지)

코, Nariz

▶ meter la nariz/las narices donde a uno no le llaman

: meddling in other people's business

: 남의 일에 끼어들다

✒️ La vecina es una entrometida y siempre está metiendo las narices donde no le llaman.  → The neighbor is a busybody and is always sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.

그 이웃은 오지랖이 넓다. 항상 남의 일에 끼어든다.

vecina: nf. neighbor, 이웃
entrometido: a. intrusive, interfering, nm/nf: busybody, meddler 오지랖이 넓은(사람)

 

 

혀, Lengua

▶ tener la lengua (muy) larga

: tell something that is private or secret, have a long tongue. 

: 비밀을 누설하다. 수다쟁이다.

✒️ No le cuentes ningún secreto a Isabel. Tiene la lengua muy larga.  →  Don't tell Isabel any secrets. She has a very long tongue.

이사벨에게 어떤 비밀도 말하지 말아라. 그녀는 다 말한다.(수다스럽다)

largo: a. long
el sofá es muy largo para esa pared → the sofa is too long for that wall

 

▶ no tener pelos en la lengua

: not to keep quiet about anything, say what you think.

: not mince one's words

: 까놓고 말하다. 곧이 곧대로 말하다.

✒️ Rebeca siempre dice lo que piensa. No tiene pelos en la lengua. → Rebeca always speaks her mind. She doesn't mince words.

레베카는 항상 그녀의 생각을 말한다. 곧이곧대로 말한다.

pelo: nm. hair, fur
Me gusta llevar el pelo corto en verano. → I like to have short hair in summer.
Mi perro tiene un pelo muy suave.  → My dog has very soft fur.

 

▶ lo dicen las malas lenguas

: it is rumored

: 소문이 나다

✒️ Creo que Nuria ha dejado su cargo. O por lo menos eso dicen las malas lenguas. → I think Nuria has left her position. Or at least that's what the bad tongues say.

누리아는 그녀의 직업을 그만 두었다. 또는 최소한 그런 소문이 났다.

cargo: nm. charge, position, job (title)
Los presos fueron puestos en libertad sin cargos. → The prisoners were released without any charges.
El empleado se está postulando para el cargo de gerente. → The employee is applying for the position of manager.
Su cargo de directora conlleva una gran responsabilidad. → Her job as director involves a great responsibility.

 

▶ se ha comido la lengua el gato

: not to speak or answer, cat go your tongue. 

: 직역하면 고양이가 혀를 먹었다이다. 말을 할 수 없지. 입을 다물다.

✒️ ¿Por qué no contestas a mi pregunta? ¿Se te ha comido la lengua el gato? → Why don't you answer my question, has the cat got your tongue?

왜 내 질문에 대답을 안해? 왜 입을 다물고 있어?

contestar: v. answer, reply, respond
El estudiante contestó a las preguntas sin equivocarse. → The student answered the questions correctly.

 

 

이빨, Diente

▶ poner los dientes largos

: feel envy

: 부럽다. 못견디다. 불편하다.

✒️ Estoy haciendo dieta y verte comer una hamburguesa me pone los dientes largos. → I'm on a diet and watching you eat a hamburger makes my teeth on edge. 

나는 다이어트 중이다. 그리고 네가 햄버거를 먹는 것을 보는 것은 못 견디겠다. 

dieta: nf. diet
Aunque estoy a dieta, de vez en cuando me como un helado. → Although I am on a diet, I occasionally eat an ice cream.
Una dieta saludable es la mejor defensa contra varias enfermedades. → A healthy diet is the best defense against several diseases.
