스페인어 관용 표현 idiomática, 스포츠02 - 체스 말 종류

스페인어의 관용 표현 중에서 체스의 말 종류가 사용된 구문의 의미를 정리합니다. Jaque = check, caballo = Knight, Rey = King, Peón = Pawn, Dama = Queen입니다.  스페인어를 시작한 지 이제 4개월 정도 되었는데, 아직 저에게는 어렵네요. 관용 표현 정리 그만하고 일상 회화로 가야 하나 고민됩니다. 일단 계속해 보겠습니다.

체스의 말이 사용된 관용 표현

 

 

구문, Jaque, caballo, Rey, Peón, Dama 

▶ poner en jaque

: to put someone in a compromising situation, jeopardize, put in risk
: 누군가를 곤경에 처하게 하다. 

✒️El presidente ruso ha puesto en jaque a toda la Unión Europea. →  The Russian president has put the entire European Union in check.

러시아의 대통령은 EU 국가들을 위기에 처하게 했다.

jaque: nm. (체스에서) 체크
관용표현: tener en jaque a algn = to hold a sword over sb’s head

▶ a caballo regalado no le mires el diente

: one should not complain about something that has been given to him as a present

: 남의 호의를 트집잡지 마라. 스페인어 뿐만 아니라 영어로도 동일한 속담이 있다. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. 아마도 이 속담은 아주 오래전에 만들어지지 않았을까.
✒️ Sé que no te gusta el jersey que te han traído, pero ya sabes que a caballo regalado no le mires el diente.
→ I know you don't like the sweater they brought you, but you know you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

그들이 너에게 준 스웨터가 마음에 들지 않는다는 걸 안다. 그렇지만, 그들의 호의에 대해 불평하지 마라. 

jersey: nm. sweater, pull over
traer: v. bring, (옷)wear, carry
¿nos trae la cuenta, por favor? → can we have the bill, please?
regalado: a. given, gifted
o lo quiero ni regalado → I wouldn’t have it at any price

▶ a rey muerto rey puesto

: replace someone quickly / out with the old, in with the new
: 오래된 것을 치우고 새로운 것을 들이다. 빠르게 교체할 준비가 되어 있다.  
✒️ - El presidente dimitió ayer y hoy hay un nuevo jefe en su despacho.
- Bueno, ya sabes que a rey muerto rey puesto.
→ - The president resigned yesterday and today there is a new boss in his office.
- Well, you know that a dead king is a new king.

그 회장이 어제 사임했고 노을 그 자리에 새로운 장이 있다.

음, 왕의 자리는 항상 준비되어 있지.(제 맘대로 의역했습니다.)

dimitir: v. resign, dimitió는 단순과거형
lo han obligado a dimitir → he has been forced to resign
despacho: nm. office, shop, dispatch; 집무실, 사무실, 접대, 응대, 발송, 영업소, 통지, 연락
El despacho del director está al final del pasillo. → The manager's office is at the end of the corridor.
El general envió un despacho con información importante al coronel. → The general sent a dispatch with important information to the colonel.

 

▶ vivir a cuerpo de rey

: living without hardship

: 어려움 없이 살다.
.✒️ Trabajo como au pair en la casa de una familia muy rica y vivo a cuerpo de rey.

→ I work as an aupair in the house of a very rich family and live like a king.

부잣집에서 오페어로 일하고 있다. 그래서 어려움 없이 산다(왕처럼 산다). 

au pair: 오페어 (외국 가정에 입주하여 집안일을 거들며 언어를 배우는 사람)

 

속담, Dichos sobre el ajedrez

▶ Contra peón hecho dama, no para pieza en tabla.

: someone who has risen from the bottom and then has no regard for those who remain below.

: 여왕이 되었는데, 보드 위에 있는 조각들을 위하지 않는다? 

: 바닥부터 올라와 성공했는데, 그 바닥에 남아 있는 이들을 배려하지 않는 사람을 뜻한다.
✒️ Esa modelo empezó trabajando gratis y ahora le quita cualquier trabajo a las modelos de las agencias más prestigiosas. Ya se sabe que contra peón hecho dama, no para pieza en tabla.

→ That model started working for free and now she takes any job from the models of the most prestigious agencies. It is already known that against a pawn made a lady, not for a piece on a board.

그 모델은 무료로 일하기 시작했었다. 그리고 지금은 가장 권위 있는 에이전시의 모델로 일한다. 개구리 올챙이 시절 생각 못한다. 

어렵네요. 문장의 의미를 나름대로 해석해 보았습니다. 

empezar: v. start, begin
El concurso de baile empieza en diez minutos. → The dance competition starts in ten minutes.
gratis: a. ad. free, free of charge, for free
El servicio incluye envío gratis e instalación. → The service includes free delivery and installation.
pieza: nf. piece, part, component
Tras añadir la última pieza, el puzle estaba terminado. → After adding the last piece, the puzzle was complete.
Las máquinas se componen de muchas piezas diferentes. → Machines are composed of many different parts.
